POTLUCK GUIDELINES

Our goal in holding more potlucks is to provide a community-led lunch that fosters fellowship and connection at the parish. Agape means love and these lunches are all about loving our parish family by sharing food and breaking bread together.

In an effort to reduce clean up please follow these guidelines.

  • We ask that you do not use the kitchen to prep, plate, or warm up.
  • Bring what you can -it’s more about participation than perfect cooking or food!
  • Bring ready-to-serve food and please avoid kitchen prep. Crockpots are great if necessary
  • Place it on the buffet table (or in fridge) and proceed into church.
  • Do not bring your serving utensils - we will use ones from the kitchen.
  • Take your dish home with you and wash at home.
  • The host team will facilitate and clean up the tables, the coffee equipment and cups, and the utensils,

Agape Meal Teams are on a 5 week rotation to host. Your team leaders can add you to the GroupMe to coordinate your service.

UPDATE -- MARCH 23, 2026
As we are a growing community, it is necessary that we switch to a new format. We will no longer be hosting full lunches, but will strive to offer healthy options for our community during fellowship hour.  We will schedule more POT LUCK LUNCHES.

* Making the Coffee (only if you want to)
    1. Fill the percolator with water to the desired level based on attendance (see line markings for 25 cups, 35 cups, 45 cups, 55 cups).
    2. Measure the Coffee - Use 1 brew bag per 10 cups of water (no filter is necessary if you use the bags).
    3. Set up the Percolator - Place the brew basket and stem in the percolator, secure the lid and put it out on the wooden pedestal. DON'T PLUG IT IN YET
    4. WAIT UNTIL 10:30 TO PLUG IN PERCULATOR. It takes 40-50 minutes for the coffee to brew so plan to plug it in around 10:30 AM
    5.  Ask a "CHRSP" (Coffee Hour Support Person) to help you:  Sarah, Presvytera, Alan, Georgette, Maddy, Tim
    6. WATCH THIS VIDEO TO MAKE COFFEE IN THE URN
